Legal Question in Criminal Law in California
jewelry switching
I gave my son a custom made diamond ring to hold. The ring was approx 25 years old. I have had other family members hold the ring during the 25 year span. The ring had a center diamond of over 2.5 karats with little diamonds on each sides. When I asked my son for the ring back, the diamonds had been replaced with fake diamonds. I had it checked by a jeweler who told me that the diamonds were not real. I believe my son had the diamonds replaced or made a copy of the ring. He was the last one to hold this ring. Do I have any legal course against him?
