Legal Question in Criminal Law in California
jury trial process and meanings
I would like to know what the meaning ''jury trial trailing (tolled status) is. There is a murder trial happening next month and the trial was I guess supposed to take place today, but the defense stated that they were not yet ready for trial. On today's ''Action Text'' it just says ''Jury Trial'' and the next court date it says ''Jury Trial Trailing (tolled status)''. Can you just let me know what that means.

Re: jury trial process and meanings
Trailing normally means that the case is waiting for a court room. If the defense is not ready then the delay will probably be for a short time. The meaning of this statement may vary from county depending upon the local practice.
