Justifiable Self Defense At My Home at 2:00am

I was home sleeping and my stepdaughters old boyfriend and a friend of his, (both over the age of 18) were pounding on my front door yelling at my stepdaughter (17yrs. old) at 2:00am. He was told by myself and my stepdaughter, and her mother that he was no longer welcome here anymore due to the abusive relationship that was transforming between them. I went to the door and told them both to get the hell out of here and chased one of them to the street, I then went back to the house to see if she was ok, and the other guy was still there and wouldn't leave. He was standing in my doorway and I was in fear for the safety of my stepdaughter and myself. I swung at him with my left hand (I am right handed) trying to enter my house to see if my daughter was

alright. 45mins. later I was drug out of my home and arrested. I am being charged with 245a1 & 243d

I need to know if this is a justifyable self defense case or not?

You need to hire an attorney immediately. Further you should not be sending out statements about your conduct on the internet. There is no privacy on the internet. Anything you email could be produced and used against you in court.

Without further information it is not possible to give an opinion on a possible self defense.
