Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

juvenile defense

Do I as a parent have the right to ask for a different Public Defender for my son if the current Public Defender has not perfomed? Does my son have this right? Is the Public Defender required to ask our side of the story, or our perspective on the events that occured? This is a domestic disturbace case.

Re: juvenile defense

Your son has the right to be represented by an attorney. He does not have the right select which public defender represents him. If the attorney is not adequately representing your son, then request a Marsden hearing.
