Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

Juvenile Probation

My kid was caught for using a

stealing credit card number to shop

online. He's been investigated by a

police officer and waiting to be

notified to appear at the Juvenile

probation dept. My kid is about 15

years old and the money involved

in this case is around $500 to $900.

My questions are

1. Do I need to hire or consult a

lawyer?

2. What is the typical sentence for

this kind of cases?

3. Is there other option or things

we need to pay attention to?

Thanks.

Re: Juvenile Probation

The parents and the juvenile should be represented by an attorney. Although at this time the charges do not appear to be serious in the future that may not be the case.
