Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

Keeping the Media Out

My question involves on going criminal case. This case has not made it to trial. The next date in court will be for another pretrial. The media has information on this case. It has been in newspapers, television, and radio. The Media wants some type of comment from the defendant. The defendant has posted a ''no trespassing sign'' on his business front door. My question is this. If the media enters the business with the above sign posted, can he have them arrested(Media)?

Re: Keeping the Media Out

I would post a sign saying, "Customers welcome. Service is refused to all members of the news media who will be prosecuted civilly or criminally as trespassers." Get a VCR and a miniature camera from Fry's and record everyone as they enter and leave the store. Then sue.
