Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

After cuffing and placing boyfriend in back of police car on an arrest warrant police go into our house without friend or myself present proceed to tear house apart. After taking friend to jail police proceed to pick up set of keys they find go through his new truck completely destroying the inside and then losing keys. No warrant was ever shown, no inventory list was taken or given. I was never informed by police of them coming into my home, they lock front door and then they lose keys. except for truck key, all other keys are mine. Police admit they lost them in truck, but after searching were never found and they are basically telling us too bad. Oh well. It cost 150 to replace key after having it towed to the dealer not to mention no one gave them permission to take or go through my things while I wasn't even home and not leave any type of paperwork notifying me of anthing. Can I file a suite against them ?

You can sue the police under Title 42 United States Code Section 1983 if they violated your civil rights, and if you can find a lawyer to represent you. Try Stephen Yagman of Venice, CA. The downside is they might come back and break your legs.
