Need a lawyer to help modify RO

Hello, I was wondering if there are any lawyers in the san franscisco area to assist me in getting an RO modified. I am the so-called ''victim'' and the RO is against my boyfriend. The court turned an ''emergency protective order'' into a ''no contact order'' for 3 years ''pending trial''. My relationship has no previous history of abuse..the night that the incident occurred, there was no abuse..My BF feels remorse and is aware of how much he messed up that night and made the wrong decisions.. well the courts took it upon themselves to impose (without any consent from me and without even contacting me to see if I felt this was necessary)a 3 year restraining order on my relationship..Thi--name removed--was an unfortunate isolated incident. I need assistance..

please note I attended my BF pre trial and asked the judge to modify the restraining order and the DA denied request.- I must have some kind of say so in this. I am not threathened by my BF.. What can I do? Please help!!

My experience is that the court will allow peaceful contact if requested by the victim. If the court denied such a request for peaceful contact that indicates that the court and the da consider this to be a serious case. Further in every case of abuse that I have discussed with the victim the agressor has stated that he is soory and will not do it again. Which is true until the next time he becomes abusive and normally the abuse increases in magnitude each time. Unless he receives counseling and help it is highly probable that he will do it again. There are many attorneys that can assist you in modifying the restraining order. I could do that but would want to be assured that you would be safe before doing so.
