A letter from the court

Last november i was subpose to go to court for a citation which was driving on a suspended lisence and no insurance. I wasnt acually driving at the time-i was just sitting in my friends car-they came up to me and told me to exit the car-searched me(found nothing of corse) then without asking me they searched his car and again found nothing and let me go--but not without a ticket and inpounding his car(which cost $1000 dollars. I had no idea that i had a suspended lisence because ive never been cited or done anything to receive that-i found out later that when i had just moved back home from another county-my father had loaned me his truck(for which he called his insurance co. Aaa-and had me put on his insurance for the truck- i got in a small accident and i never received a ticket( it went to my old address--thats what they said i never got it) the ticket was for driving without insurance(but i did have insurance aaa had a court battle with the other party's insurance we won) so i didnt show up for the court and they issuied a suspended lisence on me for which i never i even knew i had until three years later when this incendence occurred. My father was dying-and has died and i didnt go to my court date-i need help

What is it you need help with? The title of your question says "A letter from the court," what does it say? As far as I can tell you never received notice of your suspended license, you really had insurance, and you missed your court date because it was on the day of your father's funeral? All this can be fixed, but you are going to have to show up in court with written proof of all these things. Are you looking to retain an attorney to help you? This would help. Please let me know.

Sounds like a bit of a mess but if what you are saying is true, and you can prove it is true, it is a manageable situation. Sounds like your best bet is to retain an attorney to unravel and resolve it all. Feel free to contact me if you are looking to retain an attorney in Southern California.

Alternatively, you could get a public defender on your court date. You must show up to court though.
