Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

License revocation for unpaid tickets

In 1994 I got two traffic tickets. One for an improper turn. The other one was for not waring a seat belt. I didn't pay them. I have since moved to Florida and can't get a license here due to the revoked California license. I would like to clear up my unpaid tickets. Can I make matters worse by trying to handle this by myself? Is it something I should hire an attorney for? Would there be a warrant out for me in California because of this?

You should consult with an attorney. It's very probable that there is an outstanding warrant. Please call our office at (800)382-3100 so that we can get some detailed information. Everything is confidential and of course there is no charge. We would love to help.

There is probably a warrant for your arrest in California.

The cheapest way out for you is to contact the court and pay the tickets. There will also be a charge for failure to appear. After you have determined the amount of the fine to clear up this matter you will be in a better position to compare the cost of fighting the tickets and just pyaing the fines.
