Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

My live in boyfriend got charged with a felony PC273.5(A) and PC245(A)(1) because we got in a fight leaving bruises on eachother. He is pleading not guilty and also has bruises & marks. What are the chances of this being dropped to a misdemeanor? If he's been in jail for 2 weeks might he get time served? He does not fir the criminal profile and this is a first offense. Thank you

Your botfriend has serious charges against him and if he has a public defender, his chances of getting as good as with a qualified private attorney, are not as good. Most criminal defense attorneys give FREE consultations, and you need to speak to one and give the attorney all the facts so he/she can give you some advise. I wish you the best. David Wallin

Whether your boyfriend has a court-appointed public defender or private counsel he hired himself, your boyfriend's attorney is in a better position to answer questions about the possible outcome than a stranger on the internet who knows nothing about the case.
