Legal Question in Criminal Law in California
I live in a condo and my car was stolen from one of the condo owner's guest. The individual drove the car over 400 miles and we had to come out of pocket over $500. I have asked the owner to pay for our loss, but he said that this is our responsibility not his. Our neighbor also openly told us that this persion had previous issues with the law. He had several run ins with other tentants, but the owner let him continue to stay here at put us all in harms way. Please advise.

This is not a criminal law question. This seems to me to be a civil issue. So you need to contact a civil lawyer. Even though I'm not a civil lawyer, it doesn't sound like the neighbor would be liable because his friend took your car.........David Wallin
