Legal Question in Criminal Law in California
I have been living here in the US illegally for about seven years now. A few weeks ago I got pulled over for driving without a license. This is my third offense, at the time I got pulled over I was returning home from work. When the police officer checked my record he told me that there was an order for no driving for a year. He let me go by without arresting me but mentioned that "the Judge might not be so nice." My car was impounded and I just decided to pay to give it up.
My questions to you are: What are my possibilities of arrest if I appear at my court date. Can I get by with just paying the fine and not attending court? Or would there be a type of warrant issued? If arrested, what are my possibilites of deportation? Also, if arrested, how much time would I have under custody?

Sounds like a misdemeanor so you should retain a qualified attorney to appear in court for you and see if the attorney can resolve the case without custody time. David Wallin
