how long is the statue of limitations on a crime in california?if a person was arrested for dui with gbi and left before convicted how long before the stat of limitations kicks in

The statute of limitations deals with how long the DA has to file charges. On most misdemeanors, it's one year from the date of the incident. On most felonies, it's three years from the date of the incident.
If they were arrested and charges were filed before the statute of limitations, then a warrant was likely issued. Warrants do not expire.
