If his actions caused the girl to become pregnant then his charge will probably be increased from committing lewd acts with a minor to unlawful sex with a minor (aka statutory rape). He can then look forward to a very long and unpleasant stay in a state prison. How long that stay might be will depend upon the facts of the case and the defendant's criminal history, if any.

Re: Lude acts on a minor

You will receive the formal charges on your court date, and if you committed a second offense you will be charged again. Borrow the money from your relatives if you have to, and bring a lawyer to court with you on your FIRST court date. Do not speak to the police. This is serious business and, depending on the difference in age, yes you could do substantial jail or even prison time. There are defenses, and the lawyer you hire will know how to raise them.

If you do speak even one word to the police, or you go to court without first having hired a private lawyer, you could find yourself having to plead guilty which could result in serious consequences including jail time and the requirement to register as a sex offender for life. You really don't want to have to live out in the desert for your entire life, unable to get a job because of your criminal record.

At best you are looking at 18 years of child support.
