Legal Question in Criminal Law in California
My manager at my apartment building filed a false police report on me as a way to have me evicted from my apartment after I wrote a complaint to the management company about a paticular incident that involved him. To there sucess I was arrested for ADW and the next day was servered with a 3-day eviction notice. I had to bail out of jail and now im homeless with my one year old baby. The good news is the charges have not been filed, currently they have been dropped to a misdemeanor batter and I have a meeting with the city attorney to present my defense to determine if the charges should be filed or not. I am sure that I will have a sucessful outcome at the hearing, but after this is done how can I obtain justice against these wrongful doers. Also what type of attorney would I need, and who can I sue?

Do not meet with the city attorney without an attorney present. As you ought to know by now, anything you say can and will be used against you in a court of law. You will need to defend an unlawful detainer (eviction) lawsuit, and also sue for false arrest. If you receive an eviction lawsuit, you will have only five days to respond, and you had better get legal representation by then.
Mr. Stone is absolutely correct. You better not meet with the city attorney without an attorney present. I'm surprised they did not ask you if you have an attorney, and advise you to get one.
