Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

manufacturing of controlled substance

I'm so distraught I'm unsure where to begin. Narcotics officers showed up at my front door saying they had reason to believe there was a meth lab in my home. (The rental house is in my name. And, I learned the last resident had been charged with manufacturing meth inside the garage.) They asked to come in & ask me some questions. I obliged. My husband had been released from state prison June 2006 for prior drug charges. They didn't find anything inside the house but out in the garage & in the attic space (where we store winter clothing, blankets, camping equipment, etc.) accessed via the garage they say they found everything for a meth lab. I was questioned & fingerprinted but not charged & my husband was arrested with no bail because he is on parole. His charges are HS 11370.2 (C), HS 11370.2 (C)(4), HS 11379.6, PC 1203.073, PC 667.5 (B). His arraignment is April 23. My income is solely S.S.I. & S.S.A. so I can't afford an attorney for him but willing to do just about anything to help him. He has never been offered residential treatment or halfway house where he could be treated for substance abuse. Could he be eligible for something like that? Or, any specialized service offered by CDC? What is he looking at?

Re: manufacturing of controlled substance

You are fortunate that you are not in jail. If he comes back home and the police come again and find the materials for a meth lab you are likely to go to jail. Take a long look at your situation and consult with a counselor regarding the situation.
