Legal Question in Criminal Law in California
Hello My Name is Maria. I went to court for overpayment from the welfare department and it was a mistake. The charge is 3,400 judge gave me 100 hour community service and 3 year probation. I have completed my 100 hours and I havent been able to pay back since employers didnt answer me because of the background check. Will the judge put me on a payment plan or what will happen I will pay but only minimum I have a son that is 6 months old currently living with my parents and my income is provided from my parents that is only 400 for food.

Talk to the judge about your attempt to repay the debt. The debt may simply convert to a civil judgment against you.
