Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

Marriage after convicted of embezzelment

Approximately 12 years ago I was convicted of embezzlement (5 figure amount). I was sentenced to a work furlough program and have already done my time with that. I was also involved in a civil ? judgement in that same case to repay the amount stolen. At first it was $200 a month, but lately since I've become unemployed, it has dropped to $20 per month. Needless to say I will be paying this off for the rest of my life.

Here's the question... I want to get married but of course I don't want to drag my girlfriend into any of this. She has good credit, a house, car and money invested. What are the consequences of us getting married? Will she become liable in any way? Is there any possibility she could become liable? Any other unforseen problems with this scenario?

Thanks for the help.
