Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

What measures to take?

I was pulled over for the police to ''check the paperwork'' on my car to see if it was lega, which it was. I was on felony probation at the time so they searched the car and found a glass pipe. I was cited out. On the day I was supposed to go to court my name was not on calender. Almost 1 year later I received a letter saying I had court. I did not go. About 2 weeks later I was discharged from felony probation. I then went to the courthouse and looked on their computer to see if I had a warrent. It said I had one issued on 4-22 and this was 5-5. I don't understand how I was discharged off felony probation with a warrent, but I am wondering what do I do about this now?

Re: What measures to take?

It looks like you lucked out if you were discharged from felony probation while there was a warrant out on you. Are you sure that by "discharged" you actually mean your probation was officially terminated?

Regardless, you must take care of the warrant. If you do not, this problem will inevitably catch up with you sooner or later. You are much better off dealing with it voluntarily rather than waiting to get pulled over some day and inevitably arrested. I strongly recommend you get a lawyer involved. If you cannot afford a private attorney, contact the Public Defender's office at the courthouse where the warrant was issued.
