police officer took my medical marijuana after i showed him my medical assesment stating my medical usage of marijuana

Were you charged with possession or DWI? If so, then you will need an attorney who should be able to knock it out in the arraignment stage.

You should be able to get your weed back although you will need to get a lawyer involved. Whether it is worth it would depend on how much you had and how good it was.

You should of course get a lawyer if you are facing criminal charges.
