Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

I am a medical marijuana patient in California. I grow my own medicine, and I abide by all the state and local laws. Last night some punk kids decide to rip up all my plants that weren�t even done and stole smaller ones. Do I have a right to call my local authorities and file a report? I know who they are and I really don�t want to have to handle it myself. So and suggestion how I could go about this?

If you try to "handle it yourself," depending on what you mean by that, you may wind up with bigger problems than some stolen plants.

You can file a report with local law enforcement about the theft, but it's difficult to anticipate how they will react. Some aren't very sympathetic. On the other hand, the Feds prosecuted and convicted a person in my area who was posing as a DEA agent to rob mecidinal marijuana growers, and he's now in a federal prison.
