I want to have a meeting with my court appointed attorney and my husband present but the attorney says i can't why?

It's not a confidential communication with your husband present, and you could be forced to testify about what was said.

Confidential communications between a lawyer and client are privileged, which means no one else can find out what was said. But if a third party is present, the communication isn't confidential and is not privileged. You and/or your lawyer could then be made to reveal what you talked about.
