Minor - DUI

My 19 year old Son received a DUI. What happens when a minor

receives this? There was also a warrant out for unpaid tickets.

I know he will loose his license, but what are the fines,penalties,

jail time?

Depending on wheither this is his first DUI and what county the case is in, the penalties vary. Generally, for a first time DUI the fine is approximately $1,300.00 - $1,500.00. If there was an accident, he may be ordered to pay restitution to the victim. Jail time ranges from 0-3 days depending on the court. He most likely will be required to take an alcohol education class and his license will be suspended for a least 1 year. For further information, please call (800) 382-3100.
