Plead not guilty, and ask for an attorney. If you have the funds to hire an attorney then you should immediately retain an attorney to represent you. After discussing the facts of your case, and the case for which you are on probation the attorney will be in a better position to discuss your options.

Thank you for your posting. Typically, probation includes the provision that you "violate no law", or you can be found in violation of probation. Your best bet is to get private counsel, or if you can't afford an attorney, request a public defender to assist you.

The reason why counsel will help you here is that your probation violation has the possibility of jail time or additional punishments, which an attorney can minimize by speaking to the court, or the prosecutor, to negotiate a "package deal" that includes all potential punishment in one case, thus avoiding any surprises down the road.

I hope this helps, but if you do have additional questions, or want legal representation, feel free to email me anytime at [email protected]. It's my pleasure to assist in any way that I can.
