Legal Question in Criminal Law in California
MIP 25662(a)
I was recently cited for minor in possession.(21 year old provided the alcohol and it was placed in the trunk when the police came over and asked us to open the trunk) What happens to the person who provided me with the alcohol? Do I have to go to court or what do I have to do? Also, I live in San Francisco and the police said that the law in SF was more lenient.

If you were cited you should appear in court at the prescribed time. The law in San Francisco as it is in every city. The local attitude of the court and the district attorney might be more lenient there. The provider of the alcohol could be charged with a misdemeanor.
