Miranda Rights

During my arrest I was advised of

my rights. Now the officer does not

say '' now having these rights in

mind do you wish to make a

statement.'' Instead hes says '' I

wanted to talk to you about what

happened.'' So we talked, and when i

go to court He wrote that he taped

our conversation. If he did then i

didnt know about it. Now im

sentensed and i feel like i got

screwed w/ the public

deffender.Whatr he did is that legal?

Yes. All the officer has to do to comply with Miranda is to read you your rights. He doesn't also have to ask you if you want to make a statement. You knew you had the right to remain silent, and you should have done so.
