Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

Misdemeanor Battery charge

I will be going to court for a Misdemeanor Battery charge (Me and my wife had a argument at night and she called 911 and police came to my home and took me to jail because my wife told them we had a fight and I pushed her and she was afraid and called 911 ''. I spent one night in jail and the next day in the morning she came to jail to visit me and tried to know how she could take me out from Jail

and surprisely Jailer did not let her visit me and also lied to her that I don't want to see her. Any way she bailed me out at evening paying $2000 dollars to bail bonds. It is my understanding that as a first-time some think like happend to me, am i be eligible for any kind of classes to dismiss my charges ....is it true ?

Re: Misdemeanor Battery charge

You are in deep trouble and the charges aren't going away anytime soon. Probably by the time you get to court they will be felony charges. Unless you really like jail, you will need to hire a lawyer well in advance of your court date so that you do NOT go to court alone.

Re: Misdemeanor Battery charge

This is a domestic violence case which the prosecution will take most seriously and there will be no easy dismissal for you, I am afraid. These cases are among the most difficult to fight and resolve. You need to consult and retain a skilled attorney. Feel free to contact me for a free consultation if you are looking to retain a lawyer in Southern California.
