Legal Question in Criminal Law in California
"misdemeanor battery"
I had a misdemeanor charge of battery four years ago. I recently had it dismissed by paying a fee to a attorny Now that it is dismissed, I like to know if I can carry a gun for the purpose of becoming a police officer. The battery was not against my x-wife but her lover while we were still married. She was not involved in the fight, nor hit by anyone just her lover.

Battery Dismissal and Carrying a gun
It sounds like you have a long way to go before carrying a gun as a police officer, such as getting hired, the trainning, etc. Your summary is really unclear as to what has, in fact, happened with your case. Why don't you call the attorney that represented you on this and discuss your situation? He would most probably be in a better position to advise you and has all the details of your case. If there is some reason why you can't call him, more details are needed.
