Legal Question in Criminal Law in California
misdemeanors
I would like to know how long a misdemeanor remains on a criminal record and is there anything that I can do to have the offense removed from my record since I have served my community service, paid the fine and served the probation? This is very important because I am unable to obtain employment due to the misdemeanor.

Re: misdemeanors
The conviction stays forever. Unless you move under PENAL CODE SECTION 1203.4 to have the matter removed from your record.
