Legal Question in Criminal Law in California
mishandled
I called police for help concerning a parole violator
assaulting my girlfriend. When they apprehended
the pv, they then asked to search the upstairs
where it happened. Not once saying why or that
their mode of action had changed. I was then
brought upstairs and was then handcuffed for a
box containing baggies and a scale, that were
accessible by all tenants. I was then cohersed
into claiming possesion of said box. ''You claim
this box is yours and your girlfriend will stay and
her dog will not be impounded''. I feel completely
railroaded and set up. Also the parole violator was
released. His own mothers pleas of wanting him
arrested and his intoxication , assault and
property damage go unaddressed. Note: the
parolee is my employers son who was paroled 4
weeks prior and came to stay at my residence
which is above my place of employment. What
recourse do i have.

Re: mishandled
Hire a competent attorney to represent you, or ask for a Public Defender. Plead 'not guilty' at that arraignment. You may be divertable under P. C, 1000. If you are when you complete the program the charges will be dropped.
You've got to get smarter. Get rid of the 'M' in your life, and stop taking in tenants whose lives are out of control.
