Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

my mom has been framed for hitting a little girl!!!! Help!!!!

My mom works at a market. There were 2 kids messing w/the rice bin and my mom told them to stop. The owner of the store was on the phone and saw the whole thing and also told the kids to stop. One of the kids got mad and told the adults they came with lied and said my mom hit them and the lady called the cops. 15mins later the cops came and the little girls wrist was all red (they must of done that themselves to frame my mom) and the lady said my mom hit the little girl. My mom never touched the little girl. Now they want to sue. The lady also made a police report. My mom was framed. What can we do?? Can they frame my mom like that?

Framed mother-what to do before arrest

First, your letter, like most letters, states things as facts that none of us know. Neither you nor I were there. That being said, there is nothing you can do to stop them from suing; anyone cansue, but that is only for money, and they would need to win, to prove their case.As to the police, your mother should have no communication with them without a lawyer. If she is arrested, she should immediately contact a lawyer, and I advise her making arrangments for that now, rather than waiting to see if she is arrested.
