Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

Hi, my name is ***** *****. Last month, I had petty theft. The defends lawyer told me after 3 yrs I can clear out my record. They drop the charges.Now as finding a job or getting a job when they do background check do you think it will show up?

I think you are talking about a petition for factual innocence. Was such a petition filed and granted already? When such petitions are granted the arrest record is sealed for three years and then destroyed. If it was already granted, even though the records are not yet destroyed, they should be sealed now. If that is the case, then No, the arrest will not show up when employers do a background check with the Dept. Of Justice.
