Motion To Compel Witness Informant To Testify.

How can I force an confidential Police informant

to testify in a criminal case?

Is it not my constitutional right to confront all

witnesses againtst me under the sixth amendmen

There is no way your question can be answered. It depends on the information in the posesseion of the confidential informant.

The right to confront witnesses generally applies to those individuals called as witnesses by the district attorney.

Hello,

Your question suggests that you do know the

identity of the informant. In such a case, you

simply subpoena the informant. The prosecution will

be hard pressed to formulate an objection to you

asking questions of a person who is a witness. The

hard case is when you do not know the identity of

the rat. Special rules apply here and most of them

are anti defendant.
