Legal Question in Criminal Law in California
I moved out of California and left a car with my sister until I could get it shipped to Kentucky. She started having problems with her homeowners association because the car was not registered and I decided to sell it. and sent her the title so she would be able to transfer it for me. She was told that the selling price was $1500. One of her husbands employees was interested in the car, but apparently didn't want to pay because there were fees owed at the dmv. I told her to have him make an offer, but I wasn't about to give it to him. About a week later I called her to see what had happened and she said she went ahead and gave it to him. My question is, was her action criminal or can? Or is this a matter for civil court?
