Legal Question in Criminal Law in California
negligent discharge of a firearm
What is the typical ''sentence'' or fine for negligent discharging a registered firearm by someone with no prior felonies. I am a 26 year old male, married with a family, job and home. No weapon was found. Officers searched home without a warrant.

A typical sentence might range from straight probation to a jail sentence. Many additional factors have to be considered before really knowing what's likely to happen. I suggest you have a consultation with a criminal lawyer in your area. Most criminal lawyers give free consultations. If your case is in Los Angeles, feel free to call me for a free consultation. There is no "typical" sentence because many factors must be considered such as prior record, was it a dangerous situation, who complained, the prosecutors feelings about it,what statements you made, etc.

Sentencing is typically discretional. What you want is a not guilty verdict or a suspended sentence. Evidence may be excluded if obtained illegally. Contact me immediately (619) 222-3504.
