Legal Question in Criminal Law in California
My neighbor called the police on me for breaking and entering today, but I never did it. Can she have me arrested?

Sure. Innocent people get arrested all the time. Don't speak (at all) to the police, don't consent to a search, ask for an attorney, and don't volunteer to go to the police station. Many people speak to the police and consent to searches even after I've told them otherwise, so please pretty please, if the police come to speak to you, just don't say anything and by anything I mean not one word, OK?
People make false accusations all the time. The Police may come out to investigate and they may want to question you. The advise Mr. Stone gave you is absolutely correct. They will tell you things like if you just talk to them this misunderstanding can probably be taken care of, or any other type of BS thing, they can think of to get you to talk. DO NOT TALK TO THEM WITHOUT AN ATTORNEY under any circumstances. It doesn't matter to them if you did it or not, they simply want to arrest someone. Even if they do decide to arrest you, keep quite. Wait till you have an attorney to advise you. Do not say a thing. An arrest is not a conviction and does not mean anything.
