Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

the other night a friend and myself went to the web a public buisness. We were in the public place for about 45 min. When we came out a couple of officers walked up behind us and cuffed us. I kept asking what was going on? With no success no answers were given to either of us. We were put in two seperate cars and my car was searched. Is this legal?

You haven't provided enough information. What were you doing while you were online? What did the officers say to you? Did you give the officer permission to search your car? Was there something illegal or suspicious in your car that was plainly visible from the outside? What other information might the police have had to suggest you or your friend were involved in criminal activity?
