Legal Question in Criminal Law in California
Notary Forge
I recently found out someone stole a notary stamp and forged my
name on a document. I would like to know if I go to the police what
would happen to this person? Do this crime mean jail time or is
this handled differently?

Re: Notary Forge
Forgery is considered a serious crime and often results in jail or prison time. The penalty would depend upon the purpose for forging the notarization.
