Legal Question in Criminal Law in California
Obstructing / Delaying a Peace Officer
Recently, I was charged with Obstructing / Delaying an officer. Now it's categorized as a misdeamenor and I have no previous record. Because of my job I need to do my best to keep off my record. Is it possible to have it re-categorized as an infraction or something less than a misdeamenor? I'd be willing to do community service, pay fine, etc. Would hiring a lawyer help me any? It's a small charge and I know I would most likely just pay a fine but I need to do my best to have as little as possible on my record... Any help would be appreciated

Retain a lawyer. Alternatively, you can see what a public defender can you for you. Everything is possible when you have had a clean record.

Hiring a lawyer, as I think you already realize, can mean the difference between a criminal record and no criminal record.
