Obtaining Criminal Records

I am married and have been for the past ten years to a convicted sex offender. He has not reoffended in the past ten years and I would like to obtain his criminal records so that we can hire a lawyer and fight to get his name off our local data base as a ''high risk offender.'' For the past ten years he has rehabilitated himself and has no intention of making the same mistake again. I would like to obtain his record and if possible his transcripts with little or no cost to myself. If you could direct me in the right direction as to how to go about this, please let me know. You can pull the file at the county court house where the conviction occurred. Then the matter of making the proper petition, i.e., to reduce the charge or expunge the records is needed. Call me directly at (619) 222-3504.

It appears from the facts you have provided that the these records are more than 10 years old. It is unlikely that the court reporter record is still available. The court may have the records in storage. They may however be destroyed.

This is a complex area of the law, hiring an attorney would probably be a great help to you.
