Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

I was ordered to go on a three year probationer with 300 hours of community services.

My probation expires on 02.2012

All my fees are fully paid, reported monthly. But my probation officer called and said that he will submit my case to the court because the community hours i submitted was not under those court approved ones. I did one of those online community service. But I also helped a local school raise funds ( i haven't mentioned to my probation officer but I am going to let the judge know on my court date) I just wanted to find out if the judge will put me to jail for this or maybe give me credits for the community service I did even though it was outside the court approved ones...since I am a single mother.

It is difficult to say what is going to happen, it varies from county to county and court to court. Some judges are strict on the requirement that it must be done through a county approved program. I believe the reason they want this is because it can be verified, however if you have documentation through an established program that has no motive to lie for you then the judge may accept the service and give you credit.

If the judge does not accept it then you will have to do the service again but this time through an approved program. Anything can happen but I doubt that the judge will put you in jail if you have complied with every other condition of probation. Good luck, I hope it works out for you.

A private criminal defense attorney will go a long way toward smoothing this out for you.
