I received a notice that a foreign package was seized for containing controlled substances. This was a fisrt notice. What are the legal ramifications to this?

Re: ordering controlled substances

It means your pal in Amsterdam didn't pack it well enough :)

Seriously, there is a fair chance you could be arrested or cited, standard advice applies (STFU, ask for a lawyer, don't consent to searches). You would probably be wise to clear your house of all things illegal or questionable.

Or maybe some govvie is enjoying your parcel.

Re: ordering controlled substances

If only a little bit of hash from Amsterdam was involved, chances are this will be the end of the story. You have potential exposure of course but I am not sure I would recommend anything at this point other than to make sure you do not have anything incriminating in your house.
