Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

Parole / Criminal Law

Do People in Jail for Sex Crimes get a different Parole Situation than other crimes? IE: A person sentenced to 15 years for possession of Child Porn, when would they be eligible for Parole, in a Federal Matter? Whereas a person that is found guilty of 2nd Degree Murder, or 1st Degree Manslaughter, or a rapist, might only have to spend have the time sentenced if they are rehabilitated and are good for that amount of time in Prison.

Is it different for a person sentenced for Possession of Child Pornography?
