Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

My partner was arrested and currently in jail for 4 counts vandalism and 1 count under the influence. Typically, what would the sentencing be for the violations? I believe 2 or 3 of the counts are in excess of $400. Do you think he will get jail time? He also has a possession of a controlled substance count that he picked up the week before.

The charges or counts alone don't paint the whole picture; the facts, the priors and the "totality of the circumstances" are what an attorney can use to get the best possible resolution for you.

Any criminal case has a pretty large range of potential punishment for the current charges. Charges can change - "upward" or "downward," and the sentence or punishment is another issue altogether. The best advice anyone can give you is: find a good attorney who regularly practices in the court in which his/her case will be heard. Good luck!
