Legal Question in Criminal Law in California
Where do I pay my judgement when lawyer is disbarred
I have a legal judgement against me that I have paid to the plantiffs attorney now for over 12 years. This month the check was returned to me and when I looked up the lawyer, he has been disbarred. He has no forwarding address, the phone number is disconnected and I can no longer find the plaintiffs. It is my understanding that they left the state (CA) many years ago. Where do I now pay the monthly restitution? This is from a criminal case. Should I put it in a savings account in case they ever try to come after me? I have paid this money faithfully but now I do not know if any of the money was ever getting to the plaintiffs.
