Legal Question in Criminal Law in California
PC 288a cases
I got a letter/ad that says that on ''Sept. 25, 2008, the CA Appellate court published a new decision to vacate a mandatory registration on certain PC 288 cases.''
I can't find any information to verify this, and I'm wondering if you can provide any information on this.
Thanks

You will need to contact my office Monday afternnon and speak with an attorney in my office, Tyson Beers, and he will be able to address your question. My website address is www.wallinlaw.com. Thank you...David Wallin

Yes - based on recent case law, there is now some wiggle room on registration for certain offenses that used to carry mandatory 290 registration. This has been a developing area of sex offenses I've tracked during my time in the DA's office in the sexual assault unit and now as a defense attorney.
The specific applicability depends on a full review of your case. If you're in Southern California and want to discuss it further, give me a call.
