Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

Pending case out of state, can I still visit

I have a misdemeanor case pending in California and awaiting a decision by the end of Dec. In the meantime, can I visit California or do I risk being taken into custody?

Why would you be taken into custody? Is there a warrant out on the California case? No law forbids you from visiting there.

You can come to California without any risk as long as there is no bench/arrest warrant out on you. If you have not missed any court dates on your misdemeanor case here, there should be no warrant.

The misdemeanor case can be taken care by a lawyer, if you have or are planning on retaining one. If you have a lawyer, you are not required to personally appear.

Hope this helps.
