Legal Question in Criminal Law in California
Perjury first offense
What is the potential outcome for 2 counts of perjury, first offense? I don't have all the facts, but the little I know is my boyfriend has two driver license IDs that resulted from errors w/ his birthdate and ssn that were not noticed until recently when he attempted to get a motorcycle license. He signed the DMV application which of course has verbiage regarding perjury/fraud if the incorrect info is supplied.

Re: Perjury first offense
The potential maximum sentence is roughly 3 years in state prison. However, such outcome is unlikely if your boyfriend has a clean record. Probation, which might or might not include time in County Jail, is the likely result,
Based on the facts you provided, your boyfriend made an innocent mistake and might be able to beat the case and have it dismissed entirely.
