perjury question

how liable is something in court. if it is said under testimony and you disprove it, what happens. how good is that for your case. is that just discrediting the witnesses? and so if i can eliminate his witnesses, then i can have an easier shot at winning?

Discrediting the credibility of witnesses testifying against you is always a good thing for the defendant. How it affects the entire case is difficult to say because the answer depends on the strength of the entire evidence presented. Just because a witness or two have been discredited does not dismiss the case although sometimes it can be powerful proof that the prosecution is lying and rigging the case.

A witness who has been proven lying can be prosecuted for perjury later on. However, it is not necessarily easy to prove that lying took place.
